Poeta

Juan Antonio is a graduate of St. Mary´s University and a Pecan Grove Press published poet. He holds two B.B.A.s, one in International Business and the second in Marketing. Although his professional career has prospered in the global corporate environment, poetry has always been his passion. He is a San Antonio College two-time annual poetry contest winner, a former N.A.C.C.S. poetry slam winner, he was the San Antonio Reverb’s first Grand-slam Poetry Champion (precursor to Puro Slam) and is also a former San Antonio Puro Slam National Grand-slam Poetry Champion and former member of its National Poetry Slam team. He´s performed in several venues across the U.S. and Mexico, performing in both English and Spanish and has been previously selected and sponsored by the New York Mexican Cultural Arts Institute to feature at New York´s Lincoln Center. Most recently, he was selected to feature as part of the U.T.S.A. National Writing Project, performing and sharing his creative insights with Masters and Doctorate degree level literature professors. His current body of work includes and embraces poetry in both English and Spanish, with The Fantasy of Copper being his newly released bilingual book of poetry. Juan Antonio has been invited to perform in several international art festivals, throughout Europe and Latin America.
